In the Spotlight: Virginia Perry-Smith
Our Seasoned Bride in the Spotlight is Virginia Perry-Smith. She and hubby Rochelle (aka "Rocky") took the plunge "Renaissance Style" on November 9, 1996 in a quaint historic setting at St. Ambrose Church in Elkton, FL. Their soirée after the ceremony took place in St. Augustine, FL at the Cathedral Parish Hall. Smiles beaming all around with this happy couple!See what Virginia has to say...
"If you can take a few weeks off before the big day, and still have enough time off for a great honeymoon afterwards, definitely do it! There are so many little details that come up in the final few weeks, it is so much better to be able to focus on nothing but your wedding and yourself. Definitely have fun, and laugh a lot throughout your wedding day -- this is your big moment; enjoy it!"
Here is a great quote that Rocky sent me on "marriage":
"The point of marriage is not to create a quick commonality by tearing down all boundaries; on the contrary, a good marriage is one in which each partner appoints the other to be the guardian of his solitude, and thus they show each other the greatest possible trust. A merging of two people is an impossibility, and where it seems to exist, it is a hemming-in, a mutual consent that robs one party or both parties of their fullest freedom and development. But once the realization is accepted that even between the closest people infinite distances exist, a marvelous living side-by-side can grow up for them, if they succeed in loving the expanse between them, which gives them the possibility of always seeing each other as a whole and before an immense sky.--Rainer Maria Rilke (1875-1926)"
